We just published our first eBook here at Tachyon Unlimited it’s called “The Secrets of Social Security Disability: How to get benefits without hiring an attorney.” Many of my relatives are currently on disability benefits from the Social Security Administration and had come to me to do research on how to get it. In my research I have found a “secret step” that the Social Security Administration would rather you not know and many Disability attorneys want to keep from you. I have included this “secret step” in my new eBook. If you need disability benifits and are considering hiring an attorney to get them, read this book first. You could potentially save yourself thousands in fees.

Find the eBook here.

Yesterday I read on one of my all time favorite sites Uncrate that a new book was being published and it’s called “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.” I immediately thought, what insane geniuses, just for a second think about this. If you saw something as outrageous as PP&Z on the book shelf, would you stop and read the back cover just to find out what the hell was going on? Of course you would. Then think, would you buy it just to see what it’s all about? I am willing to bet many will. Maybe you had to read the original in school or you just know the name, either way it would catch your eye. With a title like that it will certainly stand out on the shelf. It’s like what has been said about Howard Stern for years, If you love him you listen to him for an hour, if you hate him you listen for two hours. You see it every time there is a wreck on the freeway, no matter if you love them or hate them everyone turns to take a look.

It’s important to take the shock factor into consideration when marketing your products and services. Don’t be afraid to be insane. Go crazy, be bold and stand out from the rest. Think of the craziest commercial you have ever seen. Got it? Do you remember the name of the product they were promoting? If you do, the ad did its job. Insanity sells. So go ahead and get crazy, dress up like your favorite Bond villain and plan your world domination. In marketing the more crazy you are the better.

Why?

Because this is not my personal blog, it never was. Using the title SpencerNick.com keeps the focus on me and not the information. This is not a blog for shameless self promotion. Do I blog to promote myself? Yes. Is that the only reason? No.

It’s a hybrid.

This page will be home to tips and insights into technology and the internet, as well as services that I and my company offer. However, I will also be using this platform to share information that is not necessarily tech related but I still think is useful. This is a showcase of sorts, it will be a collage of information from various sources shared here. I won’t waste your time with meaningless rants or soapbox speeches (I have other sites for that), I also won’t hold back either. This change allows me to delve into categories like online business, advertising and marketing as well as anything else useful. I can’t stress enough that the goal here is to share useful and practical information, there are many other places you can get everything else.

What’s with the name?

This site is called Tachyon Unlimited because I wanted a platform with “unlimited’ potential. I can post things here that are of both personal and professional interest to me. The word “tachyon” comes from an online name I have been using for years “TachyonXero”. The translation means this is my site with unlimited potential and unlimited promise.

I hope you like the new site, my feeling is that you will.

-Spencer Nick

Some internet moguls out there will tell you that you need to be generating daily web content. They will tell you that with every day you must have new information on your site. I however, am not one of those people. Sometimes more is just more and it becomes constant white noise. A few years ago I had three blogs, each updated daily. I was getting burnout and writers block almost weekly, worst of all my traffic was slipping because I was generating content nobody wanted. Blogging should be organic. Furthermore, it must be organic.

A while back I was watching an interview with Keith Olbermann about his show Countdown, specifically his “Special Comments”. The producers of the show came to him after he made the first one, stunned by it’s success and how much it boosted the show’s ratings. They asked if he could do one every night to which he responded no. If he did one every night he would constantly be searching for something to say, in addition the repetition would make his words loose emphasis. Now his comments are organic, making them a shock to the system not the standard.

Update when you have something to say, don’t be pressured into posting for postings sake. Generate content and not static.

When you are a consumer, everyone is out to get you. Sometimes just asking a store clerk or sales associate a simple question is more than enough to tell them “I can sell them what I WANT them to buy, not what they NEED.” Below are five reasons you should consider my services.

1) Downtime

Consider the true price of not getting the right part or service. Sure, you can use trial and error but think of all the time and productivity you will have lost along the way. Time is something that once lost can never be regained. Is it worth it?

2) The “Squad” cannot be trusted

Below are just a few of the hundreds of complaints I have read concerning the popular tech support team in a major electronics store chain. I have personally had to clean up many a mistake made by “ The Squad”. It’s time consuming, expensive and exhaustive.

3) I’m impartial

I don’t make a commission. I have no incentive to make you buy a product you don’t need or don’t really want. My goal is to make you happy and keep your equipment operational, not to make a sale.

4) You have my undivided attention

During our appointment I am 100% yours. You don’t have to share me with other customers or feel rushed by a growing line.

5) The way it is - Guaranteed

I pledge to always be 100% up front with you. If I cannot deliver the result you require or the problem is beyond the scope of my expertise, I will tell you. Where we go from there is up to you. It’s that simple. No hollow promises or stalling to run your bill up. I realize it is asking a great deal to request your trust but I know you will be pleased with the results you receive.

If you think I can help you or you would like more information, you can find my contact information here.
